Aussies visit England for showdown
For the first time ever, world number one side, the Kelpies, Australia’s men’s netball team, has travelled to England to take on the England men’s netball team, the Thorns.
The three-match Aurora Series takes place this month and next, with all the matches being played as double-headers alongside Netball Super League fixtures.
The name Aurora symbolises new beginnings and transformation, drawing inspiration from the Northern and Southern Lights (Aurora Borealis & Aurora Australis), subtly linking England and Australia.
Ryan Allan, President of England Men’s & Mixed Netball Association (EMMNA) said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Kelpies in England for the first time. This series is a huge moment for men’s netball and a testament to how much the men’s game is growing internationally.
“We appreciate the opportunity to play this series as doubleheaders alongside the Netball Super League fixtures. Showcasing men’s netball will attract even more people to the games and reinforce that netball is truly a sport for all.”
In addition to the thrilling on-court action, matchdays will feature a range of fan experiences, interactive activities, and entertainment.
